Meeting with Mian Shehbaz Sharif to discuss bilateral ties between UK and Pakistan with a focus on higher education and countering extremism.

As the CEO of School of Economics and Law students of Afghan heritage were provided an opportunity to speak with Lady Caroline Richards, wife of Chief of Defence Staff General Sir David Richards, on the ground realities of the war in Afghanistan and its impact across the border. In response to Typhoon Haiyan which hit the Philippines in 2013, the author raised £2000 to help relief efforts in the Philippines after the disaster caused by Typhoon Haiyan. A number of Filipino students studying at the College were affected. These students along with the Deputy Mayor of Sutton, Cllr Sue Stears, joined the College in December to present the cheque to the Philippines Embassy.
